"A Chronicles' Redux"
SiegeWorks Creations SWC American Longbow
It's here!!!SiegeWorks Creations SWC American Longbow
I've been waiting on this beauty for a couple of weeks. I can barely contain myself from the excitement and desire to string it and shoot a couple of arrows with it!
Friends, you will just have to be satisfied with a few pictures I took, I want to give this bow the careful and thorough consideration it deserves, and really do it justice. I also have to learn how to use the photo editing program I am using now. Just cropping these shots has taken me a bit of getting used to.
Just s few observations:
Oh golly it is light! It can't be more than a pound at most. Compared to my old Ben Pearson Flame Hunter, or the Browning Compound Cobra, it is absolutely feather light. I'll give you all the details as I review and report, but I can see this becoming an absolute favorite in no time flat.
The bowstring is completely hand made and a work of art in and of itself.
The laminations are seamless, and the finish is eggshell or satin. Either way it complements the bow very nicely.
It is apparent that Dave and Sara at SiegeWork Creations really pride themselves on creating quality bows at very, very reasonable prices.
You'll have to wait a couple of weeks for me to get out and put it through its paces!
Till then!
Best regards!
Albert A Rasch

I'm in the market for a good longbow or recurve, and I'd love to check these guys out. Unfortunately, I can't find them online anymore. Any idea where they are?
That is some very nice equipment and one that is well worth whatever he charges.
Whitetail Woods Blog / Deer Hunting and Blackpowder Shooting at it’s best.
Josh,
Unfortunately Dave is no longer making bows. A series of unfortunate events, and a campaign of disinformation by some dishonest people, caused him to sell all his molds, presses and forms to a young but competent bowyer, Michael Lee. Michael is building the same bows, (and a few different ones!)
I have been working on an interview, and Michael is sending me a bow for review, so I should have all that ready some time mid-March for you all!
I think everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised with the quality and value of Stickbow Archery™.
And just so you know Josh, I'll be writing an indepth expose on the dangers of doing business on the internet. What happened to Siegework was just short of criminal.

Thanks for stopping by Rick. It is well worth the money, and an incredible value in today's market!
I'm looking forward to reviewing Michael's bows at Stickbow Archery™.
He has worked with the former Siegework Creation designer to tweak the original Sidewinder, and is now custom making its offspring, the Rebellion! I sure would like to give that one a turn at the butts!

Albert,
I remember your first reviews on the Siegework Creations' bows, and you were most favourably impressed, if I recall. You say that they are no longer in the business? That is a shame. We are losing craftsmen everyday, and each on takes a little knowledge with him or her.
I am looking forward to you usual thorough review on this new bowyer.
Now about this expose', can we expect a classic Chronicles battle order, or something more subtle? As if I did not already know the answer! I hope you will set things to right in your usual individual fashion.
Cheers,
Mike S

Mike, thanks for stopping by!
Yeah, it is a sordid tail of chicanery and deceit, lies and misinformation. There were mistakes made, but the retribution far outweighed the errors. And then come to dig up that a conspiracy was afloat! Can you imagine a group of sportsmen acting in that way? I was aghast! To steal a friends comment on the subject, "They call themselves sportsmen, they should be ashamed of themselves!"
I haven't decided exactly how to approach the expose. Quite frankly there is one bowyer who i am hnting down, just to give him a taste of his own medicine...
Mike if youre in the market for a bow, I'm sure this Mike can ship to Merry Old England!

Albert,
That's a mighty handsome bow! You seem to capture your own excitement about it, which speaks very well for the bow. Have fun with it and let us know from time to time what you're doing with it.
Your friend,
Big Bob
Big Bob,
No worries! You'll be the first to know!
The bow is a very well made, great shooting bow. For the money, you can't get better.
Best regards,
