Humane Society University to Offer College Degrees in Animal Protection Studies
"Further advancing its leadership in human-animal studies, Humane Society University, an affiliate of The Humane Society of the United States, announced today that it has received a license as a higher education degree-granting institution by the District of Columbia Education Licensure Commission. The HSUS is the first animal welfare organization to receive such authority and distinction."
Now I think I have seen everything. No matter what you may think about HSUS, this is a stroke of genius on their part. Create an accredited university with a well vetted staff of PhDs and teach animal rights and activism.
One portion of their plan seems especially slick, Certified Advocacy Management Specialist:
"Our Advocacy Course Series offers in-depth, hands-on training for the new activist or the more seasoned campaigner to learn how to really make a difference. So sign up today for these online courses and get ready to plan your next campaign with the effective techniques and templates presented."
Go and take a look at the courses. (Here) Not bad, huh? I am seriously considering investing the money and taking them. Nothing like learning from the best. And the beauty is that they cannot deny anyone entry into their courses. When they elected to receive a license as a higher education degree-granting institution by the District of Columbia Education Licensure Commission, they elected to follow all the rules, whether they like it or not.
Friends, these folks are out for nothing less than a totalitarianism based on their beliefs. I for one, have no desire to be subjected to a dictatorship based on a concept of moral equality for all things, which ultimately and logically leads to the outcome of, "I am more morally equal than you."
But an education is always a good investment in oneself. And I am more than willing to learn from an organization that has mastered the art of appearing mainstream when it nothing of the sort. The blade cuts both ways, and in this case I'll be holding the sword.

Right along side of you Albert!
ReplyDeleteLet me loose and go berserker upon them, I have been chompin' at the bit for over 30 years to get my pound of flesh from these maniacal, false prophets of compassion.
Albert,
ReplyDeleteI've been out for about a week, and I see you have been pretty busy. These courses do seem like a blueprint for running a good organization to promote any agenda. I could see how it would be an inexpensive education on grassroots organizing and political activism. I think I am going to try one of them out. I've spent more on a lousy date.
Cheers,
Mike
Also a smart move on their part because they'll probably make good money at it - especially with online courses eliminating the need for facilities. That can be a total cash cow.
ReplyDeleteIf you go for it, I'll be very interested to see what you learn from them...
