Yo-Yo's for Troops:USO Give-Away!

First I want to apologize for taking so long to post this! But I temporarily have a means to upload photos and post them!

So I filled a beat up, off-green shopping basket that AAFEES kindly loaned me with the Yo-Yo's everyone sent me. You wouldn't believe how heavy it was; there were over 200 yo-yo's in that basket! It was late on a Friday night, so I knew there would be a good sized crowd at the newly built USO.

The transient tent compound is next door, so a lot of the fellows on their way to or from the field are put up there for a night or two. Many of them stop in at the USO for a little respite from the daily rigors of military life. You can always spot the guys that are fresh in from the field. They are usually the ones sound asleep on the recliners or couches.

I signed in and went to work passing out and sharing everything that you have sent our brave men and women over the last few months.

A lot of the guys immediately started playing with them, while others shoved them in their pockets for later inspection and entertainment.

We talked about all sorts of stuff - home, wives and girlfriends, sons and daughters, our pets, goals, and aspirations.

I spent a good couple of hours there shaking hands and talking to folks from all over the United States. They're doing good work my friends, let's not forget them!

It's All Fun and Games,
Until Someone Loses an Eye!

Everything is just peachy here in jolly Afghanistan! Luckily for me, I have friends that send me interesting bits of informaion to share with all of you and to keep me entertained. I appreciate the note Tom!

Check out this monster buck:

It looks to me like he got into a heck of a brawl with another whitetail buck and lost an eye! Where ever that is, the bucks must be in full rut, just look at his neck.

If you click on the pictures, they should pop up much larger.

Some of the comments that were forwarded with the pictures thought that it might be an abnormal growth.

I don't know... Does that look like it might be the right rack of a drop tine? But on the other hand, there doesn't appear to be any infection, dried blood, or any stuff that would indicate that he was skewred by another deer.

What do you think?
