Go Read This!

In these difficult times we need all the help we can get.

Mr Othmar Vohringer, of British Columbia Canada, is a fellow hunter, outdoor philosopher, and writer. His main web site is "Outdoors With Othmar Vohringer." In addition he publishes sister sites that include a forum, "SHS Hunting Chat Forum", a whitetail deer hunting blog, "Whitetail Deer Passion", a turkey hunting blog, "Wild Turkey Fever", and finally an opinion-editorial blog appropriately named, "My Stand."

This week on "My Stand" Othmar writes about the economic impact that we sportsmen have on the acquisition, management, and funding of natural assets, and most importantly, on wildlife conservation.

The Economics of Hunting

I highly encourage you to take the time to read his article. Then take some more time and consider what you can do to spread the word and take back the spotlight.

Othmar is a great advocate for hunting and fishing. He's done so much to help so many of us.

This is a great article, and thank you for pointing it out. I thought I was keeping tabs on Othmar's blogs, but I missed this one.

Kristine,

I had no idea how many blogs are out there! I came upon The Summit via a link. Then from y'alls I found dozens more. It must be difficult trying to keep up with them.

The ones I put on my "Blog Roll", are the ones I think are substantive and well written. After all it is about the written word and how it conveys an image, idea, or emotion.

But with so many, how can one keep up!?!?

Albert,

I do try to keep up with as many as possible. Of course, I have a bit of an advantage as it is part of my job to do so.

I was quite astonished to find out how much great stuff was already out there. Also, as I keep reading, I find more blogs that were recommended by bloggers I already read. It can become quite the round robin at times.

Mr. Vohringer,

Thank you for offering to add me to your links. I have already put you in mine. I went to your turkey hunting blog and enjoyed it immensely. I think it has been the nudge I needed to seriously consider taking it up.

Regards!

Please do call me Othmar, Mr. Vohringer sounds so academic. We’re all hunters that makes us in some way brothers.

I have added you to my blogroll and write a short note to that effect. It makes me happy that my turkey hunting blog has made you to consider hunting these challenging critters. I am an addicted turkey hunter from the moment I called one in with a simple box call.

Thank you Othmar.

I've asked for a box call for Christmas; let's see if my Santa comes through!

Albert

May I recommend Heirloom Custom Turkey Calls to you? I have joined their Pro-Staff team because Brian Warner, owner of Heirloom, makes the best box and slate calls in business. You can find the link to their website on my blog on the right side panel. Tell Brian I sent you his way.
