Bank of America Supports Anti-Hunting HSUS

Protest Bank of America’s HSUS Credit Card

Once again the HSUS has pulled the wool over corporate America's eyes. Bank of America is now offering “The Humane Society of the United States® WorldPoints® Platinum Plus® Visa® Card.”

Does no one in the financial system have an ounce of common sense anymore? Should I even ask that question?

I got the initial alert from AgWired: Protest Bank of America’s HSUS Credit Card

And here is the person that more than likely can get the information to the right parties:

Nancy M. Condos
VP/ Customer Advocate
Executive Customer Relations
Office of the Chairman
Fax# 704-386-4578

Unfortunately you cannot email them, they do not permit any incoming email. I spent five minutes trying to get an e-mail address from their corporate office but they just don't give them out, internal use only.

You can also call the Executive Customer Relations general line: 704-386-5687

Bank of America Corporate Center
100 North Tryon Street
Charlotte, North Carolina 28255

Dear Ms. Nancy M. Condos,

I have become aware that Bank of America support the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) through a credit card program that gives 25 cents to the HSUS for every 100 dollars charged to the credit card.

I urge you to reconsider this support. The HSUS is an Animal Rights (AR) group that many confuse with local ‘Humane Society’ shelters. However, Humane Society of United States is not affiliated with any of them. They are a powerful well funded AR group, who instead of helping shelters and animals directly, works hard on eventually removing pets from our homes, meat from our tables, leather goods from our closets, stop fishing and hunting, and remove animals from zoos and circuses.

The HSUS is very similar to PeTA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) with respect to its goal... No meat. No dairy. No animal agriculture. Period. The HSUS income is in excess of one hundred million dollars annually, with net assets over two hundred million.

Bank of America can hopefully find an actual charity, one that does do something for animals, rather than sponsor a group that does nothing for animals and limits an individual’s right.

Your Name

Everyone knows the drill. Copy, paste, etc.

Look, only you can make a difference it does us no good if everyone doesn't take a couple of minutes print it out and fire that fax off to Ms. Condos. If you have an account with BOA tell them, and tell them that you may consider switching your bank. Please take a moment and help us all out!

Just be aware that when you complain about the program, it could end up hurting pro-hunting/gun organizations, too. Several hunting groups take advantage of this program as well, so it's a double-edged sword. If they feel pressure to stop supporting one side, it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to also pull the plug on our friends.

I'm not trying to tell anyone not to complain, but I do want to make sure people see the big picture. There are some in our movement (USSA is the worst) who jump on every single one of these programs HSUS participates in without ever disclosing the people on our side who use the programs to advance our causes. (Zazzle's custom stamp and Amazon's affiliate program are two they really raised a stink about a few years ago.)

Also keep in mind that with this particular program, HSUS has to provide the lists for those who will receive the offers. In all likelihood, they are just sending to their house list of donors, contacts, etc. They weren't chosen for the program, so it's not a matter of BoA just switching charities. They signed up, provide mailing lists, and then BoA shares the profits of anyone who signs up.

So those are my words of caution for what it's worth.

I don't think it matters if they try to squeeze pro gun, and pro hunting groups. We have to make a stand and fight these clowns any way we can, and at every level. I don't want to lose the right to bear any arms I wish, and I don't want soemone trying to make me a vegitarian either!

Thanks for the info, Albert. First it was Rush Limbaugh, and now BOA. Do any of these people actually do their homework to find out what this organizations real intent is. It isn't about helping puppies in the local shelter, it's about destroying hunting, fishing, and meat in general.

Thanks again for the info, Albert. We'll be shooting over our fax.

Great post Albert.

You may want to check the draft of your letter, in case no one else does: "The HSUS very is similar to PeTA"

Doesn't effect me. I am a patron of Cattleman's National Bank and Security State Bank and Trust of Texas. The bank managers and owners are avid outdoorsmen, I've got nice pictures of Elk and Cattle on my cards and checks, and I have no worries of them contributing to evil people causes as well as better service than you get from a McBank franchise.

I'll stick with my local rural Texas bankers, thank you very much.

Less convenient traveling but it has been a conscious choice on my part. One of them dabbled with barring legal concealed carry in their banks and a lawyer acquaintance of mine walked in and threatened to pull all his savings and CDs if they ever did such a thing and we've lived happily ever after.

Support your local businessmen. They actually LISTEN when you ask them to do and not do things. Corporate banks and businesses don't care. They'll write you off as a minority complainant.

My Two Cents
